   There are, but usually you have to work in their office for awhile learning the ropes and then you can work at home.

   I am a Broker and started out of my house. I outgrew my home office, now I have an outside office and a thriving business. Starting from home is a great idea! There are MANY options to wade through. If you are a good self learner, the Medicare market is a great market to have a home business. I have never had a client come to me, I have always gone to them, so there is no need for an outside office if you have the room to spare. I can put you in touch with a couple of FMO’s (companies that get you appointed with insurance companies). FMO’s are how most insurance companies recruit agents/brokers. With your background you could definitely excel as most can’t afford traditional insurance or are turned down for their condition (as I’m sure you know).    The work from home jobs that aren’t scams actually require work on your part – and if you’re in need of money soon then you’re likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build – so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn’t true ( and those that are true sure didn’t make that kind of money when they first began ).

   I have other ideas that may help – one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself – try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don’t have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc – they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

   "If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate."

   There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

   If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.
