   There are many websites that say that you can work at home, but i’ve yet to find or hear of one that isn’t an outright scam or one that pays so little, that it doesn’t amount to minimum wage.

   There are many jobs where you can work from home, but you get them the same way you get any job, by answering a legitimate employment ad, filling out an application, and then interviewing for the job. The legitimate jobs don’t pay you in piece work manner, but pay you wages by the hour or by a salary. They do all the normal job things, like withhold taxes, Social Security, etc.

   You need to decide what you want, your own business, NOT recommended, HUGE risks virtually all of them turn out to be huge scams; OR work for someone else, business already established, HIGHLY recommend and those are the only sites I posted.

   Hi Sylvia -

   You are right to be concerned.

   The issue is that alot of the work from home "jobs" out there are actually work from home businesses. There is a huge difference between these two things.

   If you are wanting a true work from home job, be aware that many time you will be competing with people from all over the world. People in places like India and the Philippines have great English skills and will work for pennies on the dollar.

   My advice is to decide what you really want.

   When you say you want a work from home job, are you looking to make some extra money in your spare time, or are you looking to replace a job that you had before, or maybe leave the one you are in now?

   If you are looking for serious income you will probably need to start your own business from home.

   If you just want to pick up some freelance work, I recommend a site called Odesk. I have hired people from there to do things like article marketing, blog posts, heck there are thousands of different jobs available.
